The Cross River State Commissioner for works and Infrastructure, Hon.Pius Edet has established that the administration of His Excellency, Governor (Prince) Bassey Otu will soon put the issue of decayed Infrastructures to a complete rest in the State for the benefit of everyone living and doing business.

The commisiner who disclosed this during a press briefing with our correspondent, vehemently said that Governor Otu is passionate about the development of the people, which is why he deliberately came up with the “people’s first agenda” aimed at improving the lives of Cross Riverians.

According to him, he stated that so much work has been done in the aspect of roads, culvert, drainage rehabilitation and construction in different parts of calabar and across the state.

He mentioned the severely rehabilitation work at Monaya and Nduk axis road in Ogoja LGA, which has been a dead trap for commuters before the recent development, adding that infrastructural  development will not only stop in the state capital but will be extended to the rural areas to ease life for them, boost the economy and reduce crime rate.

The works Commissioner further noted that other works done by his ministry includes construction of Nyong Edem/ Effioette road with concrete pavement, rehabilitation of watt market road from Atakpa Police station to the round about and reconstruction of culverts and drainages around the market, Marian market, charmley road and other parts of calabar south, while also noting that rehabilitation of roads is ongoing at Effioette to parliamentary and technical roundabout to ease access for vehicular and human movement from Marian to other areas leading to 8miles and ongoing construction of over 2.2 kilometers dual carriage road at Esuk Utan calabar.

The works Commissioner further disclosed that Governor Bassey Otu’s administration will not neglect the uncompleted infrastructural projects of the past administrations, but will rather complete and consolidate on them for the use and advantage of Cross Riverians.

He, therefore, advised Cross Riverians to exercise some patience with the government, assuring that the government have a lot in stock when it concerns infrastructural development.
