The Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency Senator Prince Bassey Otu has directed the immediate payment of unpaid salaries and pensions to civil servants in the State and Local Government.

This was contained in a press release today, wednesday, Feb, 21, 2024 by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Emmanuel Ogbeche.

“The Governor sympathizes with all the employees and pensioners for the delay caused by the ongoing staff and pension audit and verification exercise.

“To ensure the seamless payment of February salaries and pension, all those with duplicate names and accounts which have been made public should report at the Office of the Head of Service for authentication, as names of the affected staff have also been sent to the respective MDAs for same purpose.

“Governor Otu made known his desires to save sufficient funds from the verification exercise in order to commence the immediate employment of the teeming unemployed Cross Riverians into the State and Local Government Service.” He added.
